About The Preserve

The Airborn Disc Golf Preserve, nestled on the banks of the Mississippi River, was born in April 2020. The dream and brainchild of Cale, it originally opened as two world class courses, the Timberwolf and Lynx which are both top 100 courses in the world! In 2021, more adjacent land was secured in a lease, thus the 3rd course on the property was made possible, the popular par 3 course, the Red Fox. The Preserve is now a worldwide famous disc golf destination thanks to the annual Preserve Championship which is featured on the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Every June, the best players in the world come to Minnesota to play the beast of a course, the Black Bear. This is a Championship level course which meanders thru all 3 of the regular Preserve course areas. The Black Bear is only open to the public for about a month around the tournament. In the 4 short years we have been open, we have had visitors from all 50 states, and countless other countries!! An absolute disc golf paradise, the Preserve has proven that if you build it, they will come…

Timberwolf

The Timberwolf is a championship level, Par 61 course located directly on the banks of the Mississippi River. A challenging and fun track played through a vast, beautiful landscape. Five different bodies of water come into play with aquatic wildlife such as turtles, frogs, fish, ducks, bald eagles and much more around every turn. A solid variety of shots are needed to score well. Iconic raised and terraced greens, river views and wildlife galore make the Timberwolf an enjoyable experience for all skill levels. The par 5 18th may be the most exciting finishing hole in disc golf! The connection to nature combined with the thrill of the sport makes it a must play!

Lynx

Although the Lynx is the easier of the two courses at the Airborn Disc Golf Preserve, it will still challenge players of all skill levels with a mix of open and wooded throws. The balance of long contoured fairways with technical, wooded tunnel shots creates a unique balance that will refine all aspects of your game. An abundance of wildlife is all around as you meander among the multiple ponds, streams, and wooded areas of the Preserve. The property is spaced in a way where you often feel like your group is the only one on the grounds. A peaceful, serene, and fun experience to enjoy in any season.

Red Fox

The Red Fox is the third course on the Preserve. While both of our other courses are more for the experienced disc golfer, the Red Fox is suited to both the recreational golfer as well as the pros. This par 3 course offers shorter, more technical wooded holes mixed with a handful of open holes along the Preserve ponds. Your opportunities for birdies and aces are plentiful if you can hit your lines on the Fox.

The Hollows

The Airborn Disc Golf Hollows is now open to the public as of October 1st, 2023. This beautiful 18 hole course, once known as VisionQuest, is the new home to a spacious and scenic pro shop built out by Cale’s partner, Tom Odegaard (Odie).
Cale designed the original VisionQuest course in the summer of 2015. This once famous disc golf destination began to deteriorate in 2019 as the previous owner was unable to keep up with the maintenance of the property. Although the course itself became unplayable, the legend of it remained. Fast forward to the summer of 2023. The property was sold to a new owner, who reached out to Cale about revitalizing the course. With the success and experience of creating the Preserve, Cale decided to take on the task of this new, storied property with his Airborn Disc Golf Tour partner, Odie. Once an agreement was made with the new owner thru 2024, the work and re design began. With the help of so many amazing people in the local disc golf community, the clean up and work made the new course playable in only about 3 weeks! 9 of the holes have been re designed and 9 of the original holes remain. With the new life being poured into the place, we felt a re name was appropriate. The abundance of apple trees that happened to be ripe when we began work on the property in September almost led to the place being named the Orchard. But in the final hour, the Hollows came to mind and stuck. There is still much work to be done before our official grand opening in April 2024, including new baskets on every hole, but so many of you have already come out and played and showed support for whats being built out here. In 2024, we will begin a weekly Friday league at the Hollows, and many fun events throughout the year, including the Majestic, which will be held here and at BRP! Thank you to everyone for the support!
